Bust of

Donald J. Ross

A marvelous bust was created by Ray Coogan who originally commissioned the work.  The solid bronze likeness is 16 inches high by 12 inches wide and sits on a genuine green marble base.  Renowned sculptor Robert Shure was commissioned to create the bust which was authorized and approved by Ross’  daughter Lillian Ross-Pippitt.

During the Rhode Island event, the Society members found the bust proudly displayed at Wannamoisett and Rhode Island Country Clubs. The event also took the Society members on a trek to the beautiful Ross summer home in Sakonnet. We found the bust again.

A few years ago, the Society membership purchased a bust for the Tufts Archives in Pinehurst.  The photograph below shows the bust resting in the Archives. The bust was certainly viewed by the many visitors during the 2014 US Open and Women's US Open in Pinehurst !
