A small group of "tinkers" are planning on changing our 11th hole from a short dogleg right par 5 to a longer and straighter par 4.  These are the low handicappers who are incapable of fading a shot, they also seem to believe that our current par 73 is "not standard".  Of course they have engage several experts who agree with their opinions on the matter.

Does anyone have any advice on how to defeat these things when they arise?

I'm going to Hilton Head in June.  I was going to play Harbor Town but they are doing some maintenance the week I'll be there.   What other courses are recommended in Hilton Head?

I recently played this course and had a very enjoyable time. They are in the midst of restoring the course (all work being done in-house) and they have a ways to go but they are headed in the right direction.

Hole # 12 a 210 yd. par 3 is just fantastic!! Evidently they recently removed trees in front and behind the green -- now the hole is the best one on the course. It looks so natural --like it has been there for 100 years -- which it has!!

There are several other really good holes on the course -- If you are in upstate New York, I would recommend playing the course.

It is also very close to Turning Stone Resort.
