The Corn Belt

July 18-19, 2020

Join us for a weekend in Iowa as we travel to the recently restored Cedar Rapids Country Club. The course is enjoying a revival thanks to the work led by architect Ron Prichard. The bulk of the restoration wrapped up in 2015/2016 and the club already hosted its first championship in 2019 - the USGA Sr. Women’s Amateur National Championship.

The restoration work received accolades on GolfClubAtlas.com and quickly moved from 109 to 92 to 83 on the Golf Week Top 100 Classic list. This event will feature a chat from the Architect and the team that spearheaded the previously contentious restoration. The stories are lively and are guaranteed to deliver multiple laughs and insights.

Additionally, while the Donald Ross Society’s mission is to support and promote the excellence of Donald Ross' classic golf architecture, we are diverting from our usual Ross visiting format and headed to the classic Colt/Alison commissioned and Alison designed Davenport Country Club. We will play and chat with the Architecture team of Ron Forse and Jim Nagle, whose restoration work is also receiving rave reviews.

Saturday July 18 - Cedar Rapids Country Club

Sunday July 19 - Davenport Country Club

We look forward to having you join us for this exciting event. If you walk, you will see how flat Iowa is not…..carts are available at both courses.

Obviously all this is contingent on continued positive trends with the current COVID-19 health crisis. Please login and view the event under the MEMBERS tab for updated information over the next couple of weeks.
